History of the British Used Printing Machinery Suppliers Association The BUPMSA was founded in 1992. It is the first national organisation representing used printing machinery dealers. In fact, as far as is known, there is no other comparable organisation anywhere else in the world. The organisation was first set up through the initiative of some far-sighted dealers in the UK who understood the need to have a credible organisation which could raise business standards in an industry which had low standing in the eyes of many of its customers. Although still small, BUPMSA has stringent entry criteria and a rigorous approach to maintaining high standards within its membership. The membership now comprises around a dozen companies, many of whom have been in the organisation since its foundation. BUPMSA is independently chaired by Mike Steele, who has no direct connections with any used printing machinery dealership.
